Elevate your outdoor structural projects with our professional-grade 3V Geodesic Dome Hub Set. Engineered for those who need more volume, more strength, and a cleaner finish than standard dome kits, these brackets allow you to build a custom-scaled timber dome using standard lumber.

The 3V Advantage: Why Frequency Matters

When choosing a geodesic frame, the "V" (frequency) determines how many triangles make up the sphere.

  • Superior Strength: A 3V dome utilizes 165 struts—over five times the components of a 2V dome. This increased subdivision distributes weight more evenly, significantly increasing the snow and wind load capacity of the frame.

  • A "True" Sphere: While 1V and 2V domes can look "boxy" or angular, the 3V frequency creates a much smoother, more aesthetic curve that resembles a true sphere.

  • The Flat-Base Benefit: Unlike most 1V or 2V frequencies which often result in an uneven, zig-zag bottom edge, our 3V 5/8 sphere design is engineered with a flat base. This allows the dome to sit flush on decks, concrete pads, or the ground without needing custom shims or complex foundation work.

Scale to Your Vision

Our hubs are designed to be "dimension agnostic." Whether you are building a cozy 3-meter garden retreat or a massive 8-meter (26ft) event space, these brackets handle the geometry for you.

  • Standard Build: For a 5-meter (16.4ft) wide dome using 2x4 lumber, using the  following calculator

    • Note: Ensure the "Pipe diameter/Gap" is set to 107.95mm for optimal fit.

  • Maximum Scaling: We recommend keeping individual strut lengths under 5ft to maintain structural integrity. This allows for a maximum diameter of roughly 8 meters (~26ft).

    • Pro Tip: For domes exceeding 8 meters, we recommend "doubling up" with a second set of hubs on the interior of the joints for reinforced bracing.

Built to Last: Industrial Specifications

Unlike thin, stamped-metal alternatives, our hubs are laser-cut from 3/16" thick Hot Rolled Steel (HRS).

  • Weather-Ready: Each bracket is finished in a high-durability powder coating, designed to withstand UV exposure and moisture for years of service.

  • Dimensions: Each hub features a 4" diameter core with 1.5" x 3" tabs, providing ample surface area for secure timber fastening.

Applications for Timber Domes

A timber frame offers a permanent, "architectural" feel that steel tubes simply can't match. This kit is the perfect foundation for:

  • Luxury Glamping: High-ceiling suites for short-term rentals.

  • Four-Season Greenhouses: Sturdy enough to support heavy glazing or polycarbonate.

  • Creative Spaces: Backyard offices, yoga studios, or rooftop igloos.

  • Heavy-Duty Utility: Hammock domes, beer gardens, or stylish storage.

What’s Included in the Kit?

Each 61-piece bracket set includes:

  • (40x) 6-Way Hubs

  • (6x) 5-Way Hubs

  • (15x) 4-Way Hubs (Used for the flat-base perimeter)

Project Requirements

  • Lumber: 165 pieces of timber (cut to lengths provided in our assembly guide or the calculator).

  • Hardware: 2.5" Heavy-duty construction screws.

  • Tools: Drill/Driver, Circular saw, and a level.

  • Instructions: Detailed assembly guide found [here].

Or by using the following calculator our hubs allow you to scale the size of the dome to meet your design needs.
